A very clever and interesting idea I came across on the Concept Kicks blog, and courtesy of designer Natalie O’Connor. Got an old pair of Converse’s, covered in scuffs, dirt, tears? Want to get rid of them? Well, rather than chucking them in the bin, having a £40 RRP product rot away under the ground, you could do your bit for the environment, and get something out of it too!
1) Post the shoes.
2) Recieve a free pair of organic socks.
3) Have your old Converse’s “recycled” into a new pair.
Your shoes will be kept in the loop, forming a new Converse product, rather than being recycled into car tyres… or whatever. A great idea if you ask me, check the full article in the link at the top of the post.
